DOLGELLAU
- SNOWDONIA MOUNTAINS & COAST
|
This
slate town in the shadow of Cader Idris has more listed buildings
than any other town in Wales - more than 200 of them. Some of the
most elegant date back to Dolgellaus time as a regional centre
for the Welsh woollen industry. Make it your cycling base to visit
the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, where theres a nature reserve
with ravens, buzzards, wood warblers and pied flycatchers.
The
best network of off-road cycle tracks in Wales is at Coed-y-Brenin
Forest Park, seven miles from the town. The Park is world famous for
the quality of its mountain biking and a full twenty-five miles of
trails for all abilities were built with the support of Forest
Enterprise Wales. Enjoy freedom from traffic and stunning mountain views.
