Wales Cycle Breaks

LAMPETER & TREGARON - CEREDIGION

These routes mainly follow country roads linking sites of historic significance in the picturesque Teifi Valley - a Special Area of Conservation. On these routes you will:

Witness the legacy of the Romans, cycling on the Sarn Helen Roman road;

See the Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, just north of Tregaron - a designated RAMSAR wetland reserve of international importance sheltering colonies of otters and many species of migrating birds including Whooper swans;

Visit the ruins of the ancient Strata Florida monastery, in its day a great centre of learning, a tradition proudly maintained at Saint David's University in Lampeter, the oldest degree-awarding institution in England and Wales after Oxford and Cambridge.
